About me

Mario García Miró was born in Barcelona (Spain), in 1965, where he currently lives and works.

In his early stages, he was a landscapes painter, influenced by the Olatina School (Catalonia), the Le Barbizon School (France) and the most avantgarde realism artists of western Europe.

After a period developing his art, and moved by his own curious personality, he investigates new ways to give his paintings a distinctive approach and to artistically evolve into a style of his own.

He´s passionate about nature and fauna. Enthusiastic admirer of many architects, such as Le Corbusier (Charles Edouard Jeanneret-Gris), Ludwig Mies Van der Rohe, Frank Lloyd Wright, among others, due to their talent in the architectonic design of spaces.

With these elements, he has now the tools to work on his own style, which he eventually names “Pop Fusión”.

The POP interiors

Mario creates minimalist architectonic spaces with bi-dimensional and simple forms. He uses a palette of vibrant and flat colors; and then uses black to delimitate the elements and close them in their own atmosphere.

The realistic exteriors

At the beginning, the exteriors were only landscapes and nature scenery, with time, he amplifies it´s themes with urban landscapes. Big cities like San Francisco, New York, Paris, London are usually displayed in his artwork.

Breaking the visual monotony

Eventually, he begins to include realist elements in the interiors. Elements like an iconic painting, a pet, a vase with flowers, serve the purpose of accompanying the spectator look, serving as bridge between the interior and the exterior.

The exteriors, the open spaces, painted in a realistic manner, look for the contrast, creating a visual impact on the spectator.

Mario defies our perceptions of the inner and outer worlds.

His “Pop Fusión” paintings portray a unique representative art style, which combines more abstract architectonic elements y realistic nature scenes.

In words of an art critic, his artwork is “visually impressive and shows a unique voice”.

His paintings navigate between the modern and traditional, the artificial and natural, the inside and outside.

The combination of such different styles in just one canvas, can be surprising at first, but certainly seductive later on.

You can find most of his artwork in US galleries across the country.
